I think I'm starting to realize that running a business is not for me.

Everything revolves around interpersonal relationships and network building. I don't think my life will be worth much to me if I live it pandering and placating people. I'll only resent my connections for holding me hostage in my own life, and start initiating passive aggressive acts to get back at them.

I have a tragic skill set, as art and writing depend on other people's attentions.

I have started asserting myself by blocking people, who try to haggle prices on commissions. At present, I am not accepting commissions because the time and cost isn't worth the payout

For now, I'm going to focus exclusively on submitting to art galleries, and making money from sales.

It's taken me forever to get back to work on my comic, and that's because I've realized, I really don't like comics.

I was told I should because I was deemed "weird”. All "weird" people must like the comics, anime, videogames etc.

I just don't, and I'm done with making believe that I do.

If I continue with my series, it will be in the form of a book, with illustrations-not comic style illustrations, but digital paintings I can really devote my time and effort to.

I feel animation and podcasting are too collaborative for me. I really need the freedom to work independently.

Right now, most of my efforts are going towards applying for remote positions online, with little to no social interaction as well as security and janitorial work, where I can work in isolation.

Henry Darger, the authour of "The Realms of The Unreal" worked as a janitor. His art and writing was only discovered after he was sent to a nursing home, and his apartment was being cleared out.

Emily Dickinson's work wasn't discovered until after her death.

I think this is the business model I'm going to go for.
